Sydney Fish Market
When preparing for my trip to Australia I read about the Sydney Fish Market and knew it was a stop we had to make. In addition to all the fresh seafood you can purchase to cook on your own, the vendors also have kitchens and serve a (large) variety of seafood dishes! Raw oysters, sushi donuts, fish & chips, I could go on and on...
I started off with fresh raw oysters as a quick appetizer - there are multiple vendors that sell them and you can watch the shuck them right in front of you! They have a variety of sizes too, from small to jumbo. I prefer my oysters medium sized so I loved having the option to choose.
As for my meal, after MUCH deliberation I landed on the Lobster Platter from Doyle’s to share with my mom - the serving is meant for two! The platter included a half lobster mornay, ginger crab, honey prawns, Singapore crab, calamari rings, scallop mornay, fried fish, & king prawns. It was pretty amazing to say the least.
This was definitely my favorite meal of the trip and as soon as I hear someone is heading to Australia I ALWAYS tell them they have to make sure to visit the Sydney Fish Market. Here are a few more photos to give you a feel for the market!
