Rosewood — This Babe Eats

Ever since I saw this charming restaurant pop up on Instagram I knew I had to visit. Rosewood is located on the east side of Austin in a remolded Victorian house from the 1800s. While I visited on a rather gloomy day, when the weather is nice you will have views of the downtown skyline from many of the tables in the dining room. And the details in the dining room are AMAZING. The light fixtures and furniture have been sourced from local Texas companies - many of them restorations. And the table even have drawers with reading glasses in them, perfect for the person who is always leaving them at home :)

General Manager, Jeb, was working behind the bar when I visited and took the time to give me a tour of the restaurant and tell me about the history, set-up, and potential future plans. The lawn at Rosewood is a really nice space that they have used for movie nights in the past - they have a fire pit and would serve s’mores while guests watched a movie on a pop-up screen. In the summer they hope to offer a picnic sort of deal where you can grab a picnic basket and set-up on the lawn for the evening - I absolutely LOVE this idea.

When I visited I went on a Thursday, which is when they have happy hour all night. The happy hour menu has some delicious food options and great drink specials as well. Below is a peak of what the happy hour menu looked like the night I visited, however it will change with the season!

Now let’s get down to the food! I loved that I could truly taste how fresh the ingredients were, it is obvious that the Chef and team at Rosewood really cares about the quality of the food the serve.
